Wilson & Kaitlin
We are deeply honored that you're considering adoption; we can only imagine the strength it takes to make this decision. Adoption has been close to our hearts for years, and we have always dreamed of expanding our family this way. We love being parents and would be so grateful for the chance to welcome your child into our lives, sharing all the love, joy, and support we have to give.
Why We Chose Adoption
Even before we got married, adoption was a dream we shared. Having seen close friends welcome adopted children into their families, we were inspired by the love and joy adoption brings. Our journey as parents began with our 4-year-old daughter, Harbour, who is a kind, smart and attentive child. She can be a bit shy at first but quickly warms up, becoming playful and silly once she feels comfortable. Harbour is overjoyed at the idea of having a new sibling and talks about all the ways she wants to help, from feeding the baby and changing diapers to pushing the stroller. Harbour was born two months premature. She is healthy now, but after consulting medical experts, we decided that having another biological child would carry too many risks. While it was difficult to close that door, it felt like the right time to pursue the other path we'd always envisioned: growing our family through adoption.
Parenting has been the greatest joy in our lives, and we feel our hearts and home are ready to welcome another child. Adoption offers a unique opportunity to share love while honoring a child's roots, something that Kaitlin especially cherishes after witnessing the open adoption of one of her best friend's children. We are committed to creating a warm, supportive home where each child's story is celebrated and respected, and we're so grateful for the chance to expand our family in this meaningful way.
Our Leisure Time
We love spending time together as a family and with our extended family, friends, and neighbors. One of our favorite traditions is visiting the local Farmer's Market on Saturday mornings. We enjoy sampling seasonal foods like apples and pears and picking up fresh produce for whatever Wilson plans to cook that evening. As a family, we also love playing games—Harbour's current favorites are Candyland and Chutes and Ladders. Once she's asleep, Wilson and Kaitlin often enjoy tabletop games together or relax with a favorite show.
Wilson has a passion for watching and playing sports. Some of his fondest memories are of watching English soccer with his dad, a tradition he's started sharing with Harbour through various sports - tennis, soccer, football, and basketball. Our family has recently become tennis fans, attending tournaments whenever possible. Last year, we even traveled with Wilson's family to Australia to cheer on our favorite players at the Australian Open.
Kaitlin enjoys reading, especially historical fiction, and keeps active with regular Orange Theory Fitness classes. We're excited to share these activities with a new little one and create new family traditions together.
Our Cultural Heritage
Staying connected to our heritage while embracing new cultures is something we value deeply. Wilson was born in Hong Kong and moved frequently as a child, which taught him to adapt to different cultures while staying rooted in his Cantonese heritage. He proudly speaks Cantonese with his family and shares his love for Cantonese food, often cooking traditional dishes at home.
Kaitlin's heritage is rooted in European ancestry, but her love for other cultures began in high school when she discovered her passion for the Spanish language. After studying Spanish in college, she moved to Venezuela, where she fully immersed herself in Latin culture and became fluent in Spanish.
Diversity is also central to our extended family—our nieces are biracial (African American and Caucasian), and our nephew is biracial (Caucasian and Latino). Together, we are excited to provide a home that honors both our backgrounds and celebrates diversity, with a commitment to learning about and respecting the culture of the child we welcome into our family.

Our House and Neighborhood
We live in a welcoming, family-friendly neighborhood in the suburb of a large city in Virginia. Our townhouse community is filled with young families, and we love how the close proximity brings people together. One of our favorite traditions is the annual 4th of July potluck, where neighbors gather to share food, stories, and laughter. It's a community where people look out for one another. We fondly remember last year's potluck, when neighbors took turns caring for a baby with special needs, giving his parents a much-needed break.
Our three-bedroom townhouse has become a cozy home where we enjoy family time, especially in our dining room. Every night, we come together for dinner, often hosting friends and family, sharing meals, and playing board games. Behind our community, there's a soccer field where we often play with other families or we head to one of the nearby playgrounds. It's a wonderful place to grow up, and we're so excited to welcome a new little one into our loving home and supportive community.
Our Extended Families
Our families mean the world to us, and one of the things we cherish most is how much they love spending time together. Although we come from different cultural backgrounds, our family gatherings are always full of laughter, shared meals, and lively games. Last Thanksgiving, Wilson's family joined us from Hong Kong to celebrate with Kaitlin's family, blending cultures with a mix of traditional American and Chinese dishes. Watching our nieces and Wilson's parents bond over the card game Nertz was a memory we'll never forget! We've also introduced Kaitlin's family to Chinese Hot Pot, and it's now a favorite family tradition.
Kaitlin's family lives just a few hours away, and we visit often, especially for holidays. Our 4-year-old daughter loves spending time with her four cousins, especially during summers at Grammy and Grampy's pool.
Wilson's family, though spread across the world, stays closely connected. We visit his extended family in Hong Kong every other year, and his parents come to see us regularly, enjoying the beautiful outdoors near our home. When we can, we plan vacations together—like our recent trip to Australia, where we cheered for Coco Gauff at the Australian Open. We feel blessed by our family's love and support and are excited to welcome a new child into this warm and joyful family.
From Us to You
We are incredibly grateful that you're taking the time to learn about us and consider us as parents for your child. Considering adoption is a courageous and compassionate path, and we have deep respect for your decision to seek the best future for your child. Please know that if you choose us, we will always honor you in our family and speak of you with the utmost respect and gratitude. You'll always have a place in our lives, and we're open to staying in touch through letters, photos, and, if it's something you're comfortable with, calls, emails, and future visits.
Our journey as a couple began in 2016, and we married two years later in 2018. Our relationship is built on a strong foundation of faith, love, and mutual respect, and we've always prioritized growing together as a couple. Coming from different cultural backgrounds, we learned early on how to celebrate and respect our differences, discovering that deep down, we share the same values: a strong Christian faith, empathy for others, and a love for diversity. We bring these shared beliefs into our home each day as parents, creating a space filled with warmth, respect, and kindness. We've built a partnership that's deeply rooted in love and shared values, and we couldn't be more excited to open our hearts and home to a new child through adoption.
As parents, we treasure watching our daughter Harbour grow and develop into the beautiful person she is becoming. Harbour is a joyful, kind-hearted 4-year-old, full of curiosity and love. She's so excited to be a big sister and can't wait to share her world with a sibling. She often talks about how she wants to help feed the baby, read stories, and be a friend to them. We take great pride in seeing her kindness extend to others, and her teachers and friends frequently remark on her thoughtfulness and generosity.
Faith is central to our lives, and it guides the values we hold dear: love, kindness, empathy, and service to others. We believe that every person is worthy of respect and kindness, and we want our children to grow up knowing they are unconditionally loved. Faith has also led us toward adoption, and we truly believe it's part of our family's story. We're ready to welcome another child with open arms and hearts.
We understand that adoption is a lifelong journey, and we are committed to building an environment where your child will always know where they came from and the love that brought them into our family. If you choose us, we are dedicated to keeping you connected through letters, photos, and any other form of contact you feel comfortable with. We believe that knowing their roots and staying connected to their birth family can be a beautiful part of a child's identity, and we're here to support that however we can.
Thank you for considering us as potential parents for your child. We admire your strength and selflessness and will honor and celebrate your love in our family every day. If you choose us, know that we will love, cherish, and nurture your child with everything we have. We are excited to embrace your child into our family, creating a warm, joyful home where they can thrive and feel loved every day.
